2024 Artificial Intelligence in Education Practice Symposium

  • Artificial Intelligence in Education Practice Symposium banner

In today's tech-driven world, AI is revolutionising education. Join us at this important symposium to explore the opportunities of AI for learning in higher education, to share insights, and to help foster responsible AI implementation.

Overview

In early 2023, we had to adapt quickly to ChatGPT, the ground-breaking Generative AI (Gen AI) tool. Our first intuition was to navigate its impact on academic integrity. We must also focus on building AI literacy and exploring its positive integration into education. This means seeking ethical, managed, and effective ways to bring AI into our own and our learners’ skill sets so they are prepared for the current and future workforce.

Join us to hear our feature speaker, Professor Danny Liu from the University of Sydney, talk about What is possible now that we have generative AI? Exploring productive and responsible use in education. Professor Liu has a vast amount of experience and knowledge to share. We’re confident he will deliver value and “aha!” moments to everyone in the room. He also brings news of an educational AI “pilot” in which Unitec will participate.

We’ll hear from teaching colleagues about their use of AI for learning and engage in discussions, strategic mapping, and networking to drive forward-thinking AI practices in vocational and higher education. We know you’ll get a lot out of this afternoon’s reflections.

What will you gain?

  • Professional Development: Enhance your Generative AI skills and knowledge with tailored sessions catering to educators at any stage of their AI journey.
  • Exploration and Innovation: Discover novel approaches and techniques that foster innovation in AI educational practices.
  • Preparation for the Future: Assess where you are at and begin to equip yourself with the tools and insights you need to prepare students for success in an AI-powered world.

Please note REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. However, pre-event registrations will be accepted. Anyone still wishing to attend this event should inquire at the Registration Desk pre-event from 11.45am on the day, 12th April.
