The Applied Molecular Solutions Research centre is seeking a research associate to join our team.
As our research associate, you’ll be an integral part of a dynamic research team focused on environmental, ecological, and conservation genomics. Your primary responsibility will be to perform a wide range of molecular biology techniques, including DNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, as well as next-generation-sequencing and nanopore sequencing. You will work closely with senior researchers and lab members to design and execute experiments, analyze genomic data, and contribute to the bioinformatic interpretation of results. Your work will directly support the lab’s research objectives and external contracts. You will contribute to grant applications as well as scientific publications and presentations.
In this role, you will also assist in the development and optimization of experimental protocols and ensure accurate documentation of all procedures and findings in laboratory notebooks and databases. You will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reagents, and managing inventory to ensure a well-organized and efficient lab environment. As a member of the lab, you will uphold safety standards and comply with regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe and productive working environment.
