National Student Number (NSN)
If you have attended school or done tertiary study in New Zealand since 2002, you should have your National Student Number (NSN). You may also have an NSN if you have completed an NZQA first aid course or driving test.
It is very helpful to provide your National Student Number (NSN) to Unitec when you apply.
When you apply to study at Unitec you will be asked to provide copies of your academic records or NCEA results, but if we have your NSN we can access your results and academic records, which means you won’t need to find them.
How to get your NSN
Contact the team at New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) to get your NSN:
- NZQA NSN request form.
- Phone NZQA 0800 697 296 (Monday to Friday 8am–5pm).
How to give Unitec your NSN
When you apply to Unitec, you can enter your NSN in the application form.
If you have already applied, let us know your NSN:
- Phone 0800 10 95 10 or +64 9 8154321 (Monday to Friday 8.30am–5.30pm)
- Email study@unitec.ac.nz
- Login to your Enrolment Dashboard, and use the ‘Request an update’ button to send us your NSN.
