Aim: 
This course aims to prepare students for employment as ecologists within environmental consultancies, regional councils, and the Department of Conservation. Students will engage in rigorous intellectual analysis and problem-solving to gain advanced technical and theoretical skills in the planning, execution, and analysis of ecological assessment of value and effects. They will gain a critical understanding of key legislation underpinning evidence-based ecological practice. Students will also learn to critique and argue recommendations and mitigation strategies based on evidence.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Master of Applied Science programme or the Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Science programme or the Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Science programme to enrol in this course.
