Public transport
There are bus stops and train stations near both our campuses. Eligible students can have a teritiay concession applied to their AT HOP card.
AT HOP card and tertiary student concession
If you are going to be using public transport, you will need an AT HOP card to pay. Learn about the AT HOP card and how to get one, go to Auckland Transport (AT) AT HOP card.
How to get the AT HOP card tertiary student concession
- Get an AT HOP card and register it - how to register your AT HOP card.
- Go to Student Central and ask for an AT HOP tertiary student concession sticker - the staff will give you a sticker if you are eligible for the tertiary student discount (please note that not all students are eligible).
- Go to the Auckland Transport website and follow the instructions to apply for the tertiary student discount.
Travel by train
There are train stations within a short walk of both campuses.

Travel by bus
There are a number of bus routes to get you to our campuses, with bus stops right outside each. Current routes and timetables are available from the Auckland Transport (AT) website.
Cycling and walking
Cycling or walking to campus is not only a sustainable transport option, you’ll also keep fit while doing it.
With a cycleway and walkway that links central Auckland to Henderson in West Auckland, it’s an easy and convenient route to either of our campuses. For walking routes and cycle track information, visit the Auckland Transport (AT) website.

Bike racks
We also have bike racks located across both campuses, please make sure to secure your bike while on campus.
Bike repair station
Did you know that we have a bike repair station located on Mt Albert campus, the corner of building 111. You can find tools to help with small repairs to your bike.
Carpooling
Carpooling is a great way to share the cost of travel, and is a sustainable transport option.
If you looking for like-minded people to share a commute then register with Smart Travel NZ, a carpooling platform. Smart Travel makes it easy to arrange shared rides.
Campus shuttle bus
Our inter-campus shuttle service goes back and forward between our campuses, Mt Albert and Waitākere, and is free to all students.
Transport options from Auckland Airport
There are few options for international students making their way from the Airport to our campuses.
Super Shuttle: Airport shuttles will take you where you need to go. You can book online and are located right outside the terminal when you arrive. For a quote or to book a shuttle online, visit their website.
Uber: Uber also operates in Auckland, New Zealand. You can download the app and start ride sharing as soon as you get off the plane. For more information and to download the app, visit their website.
