"I really love the variety of responsibilities I have – no two days are the same. The programme I work for is EF High School Year Overseas. My role involves everything from promoting the student exchange programme in NZ to preparing students for their high school exchange.

Working in such a large global company has lots of great benefits. I’ve been able to travel to New York, Paris and Sydney for conferences. I also do quite a bit of domestic travel for events, conferences, staff recruitment and training. The programme has really grown in both reputation and size which is really great to see.

I really enjoyed the smaller class sizes which are quite interactive. This aspect also enabled me to build good relationships with lecturers and classmates.

My Unitec degree has been very relevant for my career now. Every day my degree is put into practice as my role encompasses everything from event management and PR to marketing, HR and public speaking. Because I deal with different cultures and nationalities on a daily basis having that international background has proven invaluable.

I would suggest that they really think about what direction they want to take their career and choose the Bachelor of Communication major that is most suited for that area. That is one of the really great aspects of the Unitec communication degree – you really can tailor the degree to the pathway that you want to take."
