Unitec Pacific Academic Support Scholarships
The Unitec Pacific Academic Support Scholarships were established in 2019 to encourage Pacific students who have achieved academic success, but are experiencing hardships that impact their studies. The Pacific Academic Potential Scholarship Recipients are expected to be involved and participate in the Unitec Pacific Community.
Unitec Pacific Academic Progression Scholarships
The Unitec Pacific Academic Progression Scholarships were established in 2019 to encourage Pacific students who successfully complete their programme of study to continue their tertiary education at Unitec by either progressing into the next level of study or beginning a new programme of study at the same level. The Pacific Progression Scholarship Recipients are expected to be involved and participate in the Unitec Pacific Community.
Unitec Pacific Success Scholarships
The Unitec Pacific Success Scholarships were established in 2017 to encourage Pacific students to pursue tertiary education at Unitec. The Pacific Success Scholarship Recipients are expected to be involved and participate in the Unitec Pacific Community.
Māori & Pasifika Trades Training Scholarships
Māori and Pasifika Trades Training (MPTT) involves polytechnics, industry training organisations, support organisations, and industry all working together to stand behind you, to support you and connect you right into the heart of building, construction and infrastructure jobs. The Government is making it easy with free training to those that qualify.
These scholarships cover the tuition fees for various trades programmes, as well as helping you progress towards an apprenticeship and into a job.
Concentrix Unitec Leadership Success Scholarships
Concentrix in collaboration with Unitec have 10x $5,000 scholarships to award to Unitec students who demonstrate leadership in their study, community and/or extracurricular activities. Two of these scholarships are specifically for Pasifika students.
Pacific Masters Scholarships
The Pacific Centre for Learning, Teaching and Research has scholarships to allocate to talented Pasifika students studying towards a Masters qualification at Unitec. The scholarships can be used to assist students with research related costs including equipment, travel and koha.
Study Grant
The Unitec Study Grant is available to current full-time students who are facing additional costs that directly affect their ability to continue or complete their studies. This could include petrol vouchers for travel costs to practicums or equipment for a course. Current, full-time students can apply for up to $500 through the grant.

Hardship support
Unitec also has an emergency hardship fund that can provide a small one-off payment to help you cover the cost of unforeseen circumstances. The hardship fund is available to domestic students and it can't be used to pay tuition fees. You'll need to show that you have already sought help from other agencies like Studylink or Work and Income prior to applying for support. If successful, we'll put you in touch with other support services and Unitec's budget advisor who can help you further.
