Aim: 
The aim of this course is to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies to investigate contemporary science issues. Contemporary science issues might include global climate change (extreme weather events like flooding, wildfires, and sea level rise), international responses, treaties and policies with environmental effects (trade [CITES], pandemics, consumerism, warfare), government policies that affect landowners, Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations, business outputs, and flora and fauna (water management, extinction, deforestation and habitat loss, social license to control invasive species)
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Master of Applied Science programme or the Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Science programme or the Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Science programme to enrol in this course.
