Profile

Chandimal joined Unitec in 2011 having previously held posts in the academia as well as in the industry.

From 1999 to 2001 he was with Sri Lankan Airlines and from 2001 to 2003 he was with Sri Lanka Telecom as an Engineer. In 2006, Chandimal received his PhD in the area of Robotics and Intelligent Systems from Saga University, Japan and joined Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology as a Senior Lecturer. From 2006 to 2009, he worked as a technical consultant in many ICT projects and in 2009 joined the HealthBots research project of the University of Auckland as a research fellow.

Chandimal's research interests include robotics, human-robot interaction, medical robotics, and software engineering for robotics.
