Profile
Trina has worked in the Department since 1999, coming from a background in horticulture and working for some years in a law office. She is the course coordinator for the Plants & Ecology paper for diploma and first year bachelor students and has supervised final year landscape architecture projects and provided guest lectures for urban ecology and studio courses. A trained ecologist specialising in ecological restoration and field surveying techniques, Trina also works as a techhnician in the School supporting classroom learning. Outside of her day job, Trina provides support and advice to various restoration projects and volunteers as the 2IC for the Auckland branch of Birds NZ (OSNZ). Current research interests include urban high-tide roosting habitat use by shorebirds and vegetation diversity and soil characteristics associated with seagull colonies.
