Profile
Rob came to Unitec in 2006 after spending three years teaching Health and Physical Education at Mangere College in South Auckland. Before moving to New Zealand in 2002 he was teaching physical education at WE Cundiff Elementary School in Vinton, Virginia.
Currently Rob is lecturing across Coaching and Physical Education courses in the BSpt programme. In semester one he lectures Level 5 Introduction to Coaching Sport and a Level 2 Sport Leadership course in conjunction with the Village Sports Academy (VSA). In Semester two he lectures Level 6 Coaching Pedagogy and Level 7 Physical Education Practice.
Working closely with local primary and secondary schools is an important part of Rob's job as it provides opportunities for students to experience physical education as it is happening in schools. Being a member of Physical Education New Zealand (PENZ) also keeps Rob up to date on what is happening with physical education throughout New Zealand. Rob is currently studying at Masters level in Education.
Rob is very interested in helping people grow and learn as they prepare for a future teaching in schools. Outside of Unitec Rob stays busy with his three children, recreational running, and participating in any physical activity opportunities available.
