Profile

Sue is a Course Facilitator on the Enquiry & Communication paper in Te Kura Whanui.  Before this, Sue was a lecturer in  Bridgepoint/Foundation Education, based at Waitakere, with particular responsibility for the nursing pathway.  Sue was Campus Co-ordinator for Bridgepoint Waitakere before taking secondment to Te Kura Whanui. 

Sue’s interests include the inclusion of all students at the tertiary education level through the development of academic literacies and the transition of students from Bridgepoint to other programmes within Unitec.

Sue completed her MA thesis on the experiences of immigrant teachers in New Zealand with regards to the teaching of literacy across the curriculum in high schools. More recently, research has included a Unitec Action Research project designed to improve the teaching of the case study genre to pre-nursing degree students and research into the accessibility of online information about tertiary studies to foundation students
